Abigale Miller bio
Abigale Lee
Mills (born September 21 1965) was a American dance instructor, choreographer
and reality TV host. Miller is the founder of the Abby Lee Dance Company, that
was featured on the reality TV show Dance Moms for eight seasons. Miller was
found guilty on June 27, 2016 , to fraudulent bankruptcy in the felony
category. Miller was sentenced for one and five years in federal prison and
released on the 27th of March 2018. She was diagnosed with lymphoma in April of
2018. It is a form of cancer that leaves her unable walk. She uses a wheelchair
to aid in mobility. Miller grew up in Penn Hills, Pennsylvania. Her mom taught
her dance at Maryen Lorrain Dance Studio. In the year 1980, aged 14 years old,
Miller was assigned the task in choreographing and coaching one of her mother's
dance teams. Miller was given the reins of the studio , and it was renamed
Reign Dance Productions in 1995. Miller became certified by Dance Masters of
America and became a member of Dance Masters of Pennsylvania Chapter #10 in
1986 but her membership was cut off in February 2012 after which the DMA saying
that Miller's show on reality TV Dance Moms was "a total misrepresentation
of our dance instructors and their students , and is harmful to the profession
of dance."
